Privacy

Plague Tags is a public health education website from Sault Area Hospital. We want it to be useful and respectful of your privacy. This page explains, in plain terms, what the site does and does not do with your information.

What we collect

There are no accounts or logins on this site, and we do not collect any health information through it. Most of the site asks nothing of you at all.

The one exception is the For organizations request form. It is meant for hospitals, health units, and other organizations who want to bring Plague Tags to their site, and it is entirely optional. If you choose to use it, you give us your organization, location, name, email address, and optionally your role, phone number, and a message.

We use those details only to reply to your request. They are sent to the Plague Tags team at Sault Area Hospital by email through Formspree, a third-party form service, and are not used for marketing or shared with anyone else. Please do not include personal health information in the form.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies for advertising or tracking.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page visits and understand which microbes people read about most. It does not use cookies and does not identify you as an individual. We use it only to improve the project, including reporting on the program's reach.

Fonts and other third-party services

To display its typefaces, the site loads two fonts (Barlow Condensed and Inter) from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google may receive your IP address as part of that request. We do not send any other information to Google.

Your health information

Plague Tags is an education project. It is not a place to share personal or medical details, and it is not a substitute for advice from a healthcare professional. For anything about your own care or health records, please contact Sault Area Hospital directly.

Links to other websites

This site links to Sault Area Hospital and other resources. Once you leave Plague Tags, those sites have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them.
