About Plague Tags

Infection prevention that actually sticks.

Most infection education ends up in a pamphlet nobody reads. Plague Tags takes a different approach. We give people something they want to keep, and the science comes along for the ride.

Every tag that leaves the hospital is a conversation that keeps going, into homes, schools, and workplaces, carried by someone who now knows something real about how infection spreads and how to stop it.

The program is grant-funded and delivered through Sault Area Hospital's Infectious Disease team. Every tag is medically reviewed and written to be clear for all ages, from kids to healthcare professionals.

The Science

Why This Matters.

Microbes are invisible. Knowing how they work is one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and the people around you.

See the Invisible

Most pathogens are so small you could fit thousands on the head of a pin. Plague Tags makes them visible. Each character is modelled on the real shape of the microbe under an electron microscope.

Know Your Defence

The precautions on every card are evidence-based and specific to that pathogen, whether that means handwashing, vaccination, or antibiotic stewardship. They are chosen for that exact threat, not copied from a generic list.

Spread Awareness

A keychain on your bag or a card on your desk gets people asking questions. Every "what is that?" is a chance for someone to learn something new.
